This is Such a Mickey Mouse Grand Master!

Ok, don’t get huffy!  That is not a slam on Most Worshipful JLo or Becky!  They are from Orange County and their unofficial “theme” has been the Happiest Place on Earth!  Yes, Disney and Mickey and all that!

The Weekend in the South was truly a jam-packed weekend of fun!  The youth groups were offered reduced-cost tickets to attend the events, and it was great to see them as well as masons from around the southland participating!

We had Friday night at Disney California Adventure.  It was my first time there, and it was fun to see all the rides and attractions.  20130419_173821Not sure if you can see this clearly, but that’s the cool dude turtle, Crush from Finding Nemo!  I love that dude!

We eventually left California Adventure proper and walked to Main street USA or whatever they call that shopping/eating street between CalAd and DisneyLand.  We met Heather and John Cooper at Rainforest Café.  There was a gorilla in our dining room, and when he “woke up”, I thought the lady sitting next to him was going to jump out of her skin!  It was funny sad for her.

Dinner took longer than we expected, even though we had reservations, so by the time we finished, we only had time to run over to the watershow before it started.  That was certainly spectacular!  Ok, I admit it, too…the music (from all of Alissa’s favorite Princess Movies, particularly The Little Mermaid) made me cry.

We decided to hoof it back to the hotel..and it was far.  Oh my goodness, my feet were tired when we got back!  FELL into bed and set the alarm for early o’clock!

The next day we all assembled at the ‘Big A’ for an Angels game, complete with tailgating!  There were a number of barbeques fired up, and many many sausages being sacrificed, and the eatin’ was good!  (And it was hot.  Let me tell you.  It was HOT!)20130420_123059

We finished eating and made our way across the parking lot to the stadium.  We found our seats and enjoyed watching a very exciting game.  It was good to hang out with my girls (you know who you are) and relax.  Afterward we tromped back to Latifah and back to the hotel..to change…for…MEDIEVAL TIMES!

I’d never been before, but it was really pretty cool!  It’s very formulaic, but the horses are beautiful and the men riding the horses are ..athletic!  But, here’s the secret:  TAKE A BABY!  We got to hold  Jamison, Brenda and Michael Stern’s baby boy, during the “eventing”.

Fun!20130420_19163120130420_19015720130420_19015620130420_19015420130420_190151Right?  Is that not a face to love?  He is so cuddly and sweet, and Michael and Brenda are so generous about sharing him.  Everyone now:   Awwwwwwww!

The next day the men had a meeting for Exec, so we had breakfast in the hotel before hitting the road for home.  It was a really fun weekend, and props to the Lowes for all the arrangements and great ideas planning it all!
