True Friends

The e-mail went out last night, and the letter will be in today’s mail.  The announcement of Russ’s selection is now public news. 

The lovely thing is that the emails and phone calls are rolling in, all congratualtory, all flattering, all supportive and warm.  (I guess the nice thing is that people who are saying “oh, ick” don’t call and say “oh, ick”!)

The people we meet on this journey will be like beads on a beautiful necklace.  Not one will be alike, not one will be perfect.  It’s the imperfection and variety that makes the whole sparkle and have character and interest.
